A Family Business

Skovhuus Knit was founded in 1972, when the manufacturer Johannes Skovhuus and his wife, Anne Marie, established themselves with a single knittingmachine in humble premises in Hammerum near Herning.

Johannes Skovhuus was one of the real textile pioneers in the area, who drove out and sold goods during the day and produced at home in the evenings. A hard work, which has laid the foundation for the Skovhuus we know today. Beacause of Johannes and Anne Marie's dedication and their good sense of quality they needed more space for their production, and in 1980 the whole company moved into the newly built factory in Birk - and here we still are to this day.

At Skovhuus Strik, we are 21 employees in Birk. At this address you will find everything from sales, marketing, design to production and warehousing. The close collaboration forms the ground for a company where you want to be for many years. Many of the current employees have been with us for at least a decade and in 2020 we were able to celebrate a faithful colleague with a 40 years anniversary!

Skovhuus is still owned by the family and is driven by the second generation, the daughters Camilla and Elisabeth Skovhuus, and they have worked in the company since 1998 and 2002.
